I love Siam Orchid for one thing: the volcano chicken. I know it's not particularly Thai, and it's not sushi, but it IS delicious. I have tried a few other Thai dishes (never the sushi), but I rarely have anything else at this restaurant. The service is almost always curt, oftentimes slow or distracted, and generally not very good. I usually feel like I'm inconveniencing them when I walk in, whether for a pick-up or to dine in. The atmosphere itself feels cheap as a whole. They try to dress it up with cloth napkins and an attempt at "nice" decor, but it still lacks... a lot. It's not particularly comfortable (even the cushion seating near the back.) Overall, it's not terrible but it's not especially awe-inspiring either. It'll work in a pinch, but there's better out there.

I am very pleased going to Siam Orchid. Very nice, friendly atmosphere. Seating around the sushi bar so you can watch them make it. They even have a place to sit japanese style, but that's just plain uncomfortable. Tried it once. Sit there if you are under 30. Price is better than other sushi restaurants. Great food, lots of selection. Definitely a family favorite!

Best place for Thai in Vero Beach. I love coming here and would definitely say I'm a customer for life. The food and service is great. It's a casual and comfortable place, and overall very consistent. I think this restaurant will be staying in Vero for a very long time.

I prefer the Thai food over the sushi. The volcano shrimp is outstanding. Service is great. This is a very comfortable place and food is very consistent. Never had a bad meal here and used to eat lunch here regularly. Now moved 2 hours away, but still make a point to visit when passing through to satisfy my craving for Thai food.

Huge menu with great variety in pricing. Pretty standard as far as thai food & sushi go. Not outstanding, but very good. Their thai food is better then their sushi.

I've always eaten here, whether it's lunch or dinner. But I will NEVER PATRONIZE HERE AGAIN. Last night I had dinner with a friend, we sat down, we ordered a glass of wine, chatted for about 20minutes before placing our order. During the interium of my friend and I just chatting, we were approached at least 5 times for us to place our order. At which point, we politely told the server that we would let them know when we were ready we would signal them over, so in that haste we just we ahead and placed the order anyway. Food was great as usual, my gripe was the way we were so mistreated... I just wanted to say that I've NEVER been treated so rudely in my entire life while dining anywhere! And I go out to eat ALOT. When we were finished with our meal, we paid the check and almost immediately were told by the server that we had to leave because there were other people that wanted our table, the restaurant was half full. So, it wasn't like there were NO tables, nor standing room only, there were plenty of available seating. My friend was so outraged that she told the guy at the sushi bar about how we were treated on the way out and he just smiled and said oh thank you. Honestly, I don't even think he understood a word she was saying. Poor communication all the way around. I will NEVER go back here. It's really sad at how in today's economy that you'll be rushed out to leave when the place wasn't even at it's capacity, they should do everything they can to have people stay. Oh well, there's lots of other sushi places in vero that i will be dining at from now on. P.S. Dana R wrote a similar review so I can totally relate to her story, and after reading it made me think... huh, it wasn't just us!

This is a Thai restaurant first and foremost; we never get get sushi here, wouldn't really consider it, so this review is just for the Thai food. As for the Thai food, this is our Thai place. We can't get good Thai food by our house in Jersey, so we save up our appetites for our trips to Vero and get Siam Orchid every trip, be it a two day trip or a seven day trip - it is an imperative that we get Siam Orchid once. We always get it to go, so can't really say much about the service, although I could definitely see some of the other comments being valid. But the food is good!

This is the 4th sushi place we've tried since we moved to town, and we were happy with our experience. Thanks to a friend's recommendation we decided to give it a try despite the lack-luster storefront. Never judge a book by its cover, right? Our waitress was polite and prompt. We tried the red curry, which was very good. We had 2 basic rolls (escolar and salmon) and 2 fancy rolls (Geisha and Sea Never Sleep) and all were good. The menu is huge, lots to choose from with nice options for the non-sushi lovers. Next time we'll try a Thai dish with more rolls...can't wait!

This USED TO BE my go to place for Asian food in Vero. It's been redecorated from old and colorful to black and cream and bland. My cashew dish had 3 1/2 cashews and 3 1/2 snow peas, and was mostly onion. Prices have gone up a coupla bucks per item, portions are about 1/2 previous size. Crab sushi roll itty bitty, kindergarten crayon size, and dry. Other sushi was average, nothing to write home about. The wait staff used to be welcoming, happy, smiling. Now their faces are flat porcelain dolls with perpetual downturn mouths. They didn't even respond when we left and said goodbye to them. Wow! What happened to: Thank you! Thanks for coming! Come back soon! So many choices in this town; if you want good Asian, try Bangkok, Kata, or Saigon Sushi. If you want Pizza Hut quality, edible but unremarkable, boring decor, this is the place for you. Better than buffet, I guess.

I've been going here for years for Thai, but only in the past year or two have gotten their sushi rolls, and they are great. The rainbow roll (my test that I use to judge all sushi places) was great, and they definitely don't skimp on portions. A tiny complaint is that they put a MASSIVE blob of wasabi in our takeout, so it got on a few of the rolls. Maybe ask them nicely not to include wasabi if you're sensitive to it. Overall, great standby!

Service is usually good, this recent experience the food came out individually. Not pleased as we had to watch each other eat..... Worth a try but not if this happens again.
